Directions to the Velvet Cloak Inn

From RDU International Airport/ I-40 East
From I-40 East take exit 289 (Raleigh North and East), which becomes Wade Avenue. At third traffic light make right on Faircloth Street.
At first traffic light make left on Hillsborough Street.
The Velvet Cloak is approximately two miles on right at 1505 Hillsborough Street.

From Greensboro, NC, and Interstate 85 North merging I-40 East
Take I-40 East.
From 1-40 East, take exit 289 (Raleigh North and East), which becomes Wade Avenue. At third traffic light make right on Faircloth Street.
At first traffic light make left on Hillsborough Street.
The Velvet Cloak is approximately two miles on right at 1505 Hillsborough Street.

From I-95 North
Take I-40 West at exit 81 toward Durham and Raleigh.
Follow I-40 West at beltline (I-440) merge – stay left.
Take exit 298-B (South Saunders Street and Downtown).
Turn right at bottom of exit.
Stay right and head into downtown Raleigh.
(Note: South Saunders Street will turn into McDowell Street.)
Turn left on Edenton Street.
Turn left on Salisbury Street
Turn right on Hillsborough Street.
The Velvet Cloak is one mile on left, 1505 Hillsborough Street.

From I-40 West
Merge with the beltline (I-440) – stay left.
Take exit 298-B (South Saunders Street and Downtown).
Turn right at bottom of exit.
Stay right and head into downtown Raleigh.
(Note: South Saunders Street will turn into McDowell Street.)
Turn left on Edenton Street.
Turn left on Salisbury Street
Turn right on Hillsborough Street.
The Velvet Cloak is one mile on left, 1505 Hillsborough Street.

From North of Petersburg, Virginia, I-85 South and I-95 South
From I-85 South, take exit U.S. 1 South to Raleigh.
(This is the left exit at Henderson, NC.)
Follow U.S. 1 into Raleigh.
U.S. 1 will turn into Capital Blvd.
Capital Blvd will turn into Downtown Blvd.
You will enter downtown Raleigh.
Make a right onto Hillsborough Street.
The Velvet Cloak is one mile on the left, 1505 Hillsborough Street.

From Rocky Mount, Highway 64 West and I-95 South
Exit onto Highway 64 West.
Follow Highway 64 west into Raleigh.
Highway 64 West will turn into New Bern Avenue.
Follow New Bern Avenue into downtown Raleigh.
New Bern Avenue will turn into Edenton Street.
Follow Edenton Street through downtown Raleigh.
Edenton Street will merge with Hillsborough Street once you pass through downtown. The Velvet Cloak will be on left in less than .75 m, 1505 Hillsborough Street.

From Asheboro and Sanford, N.C., and U.S. 1 North and Highway 64 East
Highway 64 East/U.S. 1 North will turn into I-440 North.
Exit onto Hillsborough Street.
Turn left at the bottom of the exit.
The Velvet Cloak is two miles on right, 1505 Hillsborough Street.
